The Eye is the Lamp of the Body.

Jesus Christ told us this in His Holy Word almost 2,000 years ago !

And oh how true this is.. now more than ever ! more commonly known as "the eyes are the windows to the soul".

we are what we "consume", in more than one way. The devil knows this and he is taking full advantage of it. mainstream media, social media, movies, music, books (people still read those?).. these can be tools for edification or separation from God.

A lot of people don't really think how much we are being conditioned to what we watch and listen to. This is part of the spiritual warfare that we are fighting every single day, and it is up to us who see this to warn those that we love. I don't think I need to go into more details about the disgusting things that exist online. Please, my brothers and sisters, audit what you watch and listen to. Secularization and this culture of death are using these things intentionally to seperate us from our loving God. Christian music exists, christian movies and documentaries, books.. there are so many amazing books to be read that couldn't be read in a lifetime. "The eye is the lamp of the body" from the Gospel according to Saint Matthew 6:22 ! Consume the Holy Word of God; read it with your family and kids. read the catechism. read about the lives of the saints. (saint Mother Teresa is a fan favorite - and today is her feast day !) listen to catholic podcasts, follow catholic Facebook and instagram pages ! fill your heart and mind with the things of God, or this world and the devil will fill it with everything else.. "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8 :) spoken like a true shepherd. This is not to fear monger anyone but to look out for and warn. This is happening and no one wants their loved ones to fall for this. This culture wants both parents to be so busy that they can't give enough time to the faith formation of their kids. That's why it's so important to pray as much as possible. In the morning, on the car ride to work, on your lunch break, before meals, and before bed. Let's make time and become the true children of God that He has created us to be !
